Survey on online shopping and delivery/return options
During September and October 2024, the Norwegian Center for Transport Research (TØI) in Norway conducts a survey with online consumers on their experience with e-commerce and delivery/return options. Data collection is part of the EU Horizon project CodeZERO, coordinated by TRT Trasporti e territorio in Italy, and involving Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) in Belgium and TNO in the Netherlands in addition to TØI as research partners. The project’s main purpose is to co-create sustainable and zero-emission last-mile delivery and return solution for e-commerce that are also attractive to consumers.
Why are you being asked to participate?
We would like to reach out people who shop online to ask them about their experience.
What does participation involve for you?
Being a participant means that you answer a questionnaire that you get a link to via social media. You will be asked about your experience with online shopping, your knowledge about the environmental impact of deliveries and returns and some background questions (age, gender, income level, household status). You will also be asked whether you are willing to give us an interview and more generally be involved in the project. We also register your web identifier and contact information (if you agree to be contacted by us for an interview) in connection with survey responses. The answers are stored electronically in TØI's internal systems in a password-locked folder. It takes less than five minutes to answer the questions.
Participation is voluntary
Participation in the project is voluntary. If you chose to participate, you can withdraw your consent at any time without giving a reason. All information about you will be made anonymous. There will be no negative consequences for you if you chose not to participate or later decide to withdraw.
Personal data
We will process your personal data based on your consent.
Based on an agreement with TØI, The Data Protection Services of Sikt – Norwegian Agency for Shared Services in Education and Research has assessed that the processing of personal data in this project meets requirements in data protection legislation.
